Do you know you those days when you don’t feel like you’re getting anything done? Maybe you feel like you’re treading water or worse that your bailing your little business-ship out with a pail in the middle of a raging storm? You just can’t see any success in sight?
I know how you feel. And treading water is a good thing, it means you’re not sinking. In fact treading water means that you’ve got your head above the waves even sometimes if it feels temporary.
I want you to make a list. Not a, “things to do” list, but a, “things that got done” list. A success list that you can show to your doubting inner critic or your annoying sister who wonders why you started your own business anyway! This is not about productivity, this is about you.
It is really easy to feel like you’re not getting ahead. You are making progress and you’re ready for more! (How can I tell? You’re reading this blog which means you’re not just thinking about making changes, you’re actually taking steps, no matter how small.)
I don’t want you to quit. And if you think you’re fighting a losing battle, you might. So I want you to start keeping a list. “Called one prospect.” “Sent 4 emails.” “Put together one flyer.” “Showed up to work with X client.” “Did not kill customer service guy.”
These are all signs of life in your business. That you’re doing something and moving ahead. Some days you won’t see the progress and that you’re working way too hard for that.
So start today. Do it every day for 30 days. In fact here are the rules:
- Start today
- Do it for 30 days
- Write your accomplishments using the fewest words possible.
- It should take no longer than 2 minutes
Tell yourself that your work day doesn’t end until you write your list. Feel free to update it throughout the day or do it all at once, but just remember to use as few words as possible and do it every day.
When you miss a day, ignore it and keep going.
It will motivate and relieve you more than just about anything else.
Start now and when you’ve done it comment below or send me an email and I (or one of my robot-pirate-ninjas will send you a virtual high-five! (<– is the Bonus Prosperity Habit: Get Support!)
List. Now. You Deserve It.
