Do you want to feel better about your money and finances in 2-3 minutes?
Whether you want to develop a money practice or just have an occasional moment of peace, the Prosperity Moment is something you can do almost anywhere –alone or with friends – to help get current with your money situation and feel better and more grounded.
- Have a body (pre-requisite for most things here on planet Earth)
- Have a connection to the internet
The 5 Steps of The Prosperity Moment
- Take a Deep Breath
- Visualize having your goal
- Check your bank balance
- Feel All The Feelings
- Appreciation and Gratitude!
The Steps in Detail!
First: Take a Deep Breath
Breathe
Again.
Spend 30 seconds getting present to where you are right now. That’s about 4 to 6 deep breaths. Feel your feet on the ground.
Feel your skin where it meets the air. Feel your breath coming in and out of your lungs. Just for a moment… be.
Breathing also helps you reduce toxins in the body, gets blood moving and is one of the critical components for brain function! Just taking some deep breaths will help you feel better.
Step 2 – Visualize Success!
Bring your thoughts to a money goal you have or are excited about having. (You know the one!) Now, invoke the feelings and delight of having just achieved that goal. Rejoice and revel in it. Feel great!
Every time you take yourself to that place, you are one step closer to having it! Visualizing from a place of having your goal helps your brain to start setting circuits around the idea of having what you want. Especially if it’s something new! Your brain needs to form new neural pathways for this new reality, so imaging what it feels like helps the unconscious part of your psyche register the change that you are making.
Step 3 – Check Your Bank Balance(s)
Now, check your bank balance. Use your phone, your laptop, tablet, or desktop, or the USB connection in the back of your head. Get the 4-1-1 on what’s happening right now. Even if it’s a little hard, just log in and take a look. That’s it.
And breathe. Remember that breathing makes you feel better and calm emotions.
Know that the number is not a judgment of you. It’s just a number. Knowing your bank balance will help you make better decisions in both the short- and long-term.
Step 4 – Feel the Feelings
Whatever the number, feel the feelings. Take 30 seconds and just be with how it feels to have this amount of money. Let it all in. Breathe. Be who you are.
This is what’s so right now. And that’s ok. (And if it doesn’t feel ok, be curious about that.)
Often we force our way through our days with such urgency that we put our feelings off and don’t allow them the space they need to release. Stuffing your feelings or ignoring them makes them stay longer than necessary. The more you’re able to feel your current feelings, the less stuck you are with them.
Step 5 – Appreciation and Gratitude
Invoke feelings of appreciation and gratitude: Know that you just took a huge step towards financial freedom. Thank yourself for the willingness to try, no matter what the numbers. You’re building confidence, competence, and joy with each action.
Appreciation helps to change your brain chemistry and literally make you feel better about everything else in your life. Do it early and often.
That’s it! Back to your regularly schedule day!
If this makes you feel as good as it makes me feel, tell me about it! I’d love to hear your experience in the comments below!
